Fikih Waktu Salat Gerhana: Perspektif Imam Syafi’i Dalam Kitab Al-Umm

Abstract

The jurisprudence of eclipse prayer timing serves as a guide for performing Sunnah prayers during solar and lunar eclipses. This study aims to examine the jurisprudential perspective on the timing of eclipse prayers according to Imam al-Shafi'i as outlined in Al-Umm. Using a library research method with a descriptive approach, the primary data source is the Al-Umm book, while secondary data are derived from e-journals, reference books, and related literature. The analysis is conducted using the Double Movement Theory. The findings indicate that eclipse prayer is a recommended Sunnah act in Islam and should be performed during the occurrence of an eclipse, with emphasis on the timing of its execution. Although it is categorized as a Sunnah Mu’akkadah (highly emphasized Sunnah), its performance is conditional upon the actual occurrence of an eclipse. This study is expected to enhance understanding and implementation of eclipse prayers among Muslims.
